Hollyn Gambill
(花红 — Huā Hóng)
Director/Creator
Hollyn Gambill is a film major and Kenan Excellence Scholar at the UNC School of the Arts. Adopted from China at age 2 ½, it has been a lifelong dream of hers to create a project, connecting with and empowering fellow adoptees to share their stories. Her work spans mediums as diverse as film, oral history, writing, and documentary filmmaking and has led her to rich experiences in the museum, library, and non-profit world. Through her passion for storytelling and love for people, she hopes to spark more curiosity and wonder in the world.
Bella Babich
Editor
Bella Babich is a fourth year editor at the University of North Carolina School of the Arts. With her love for documentaries and passion for working on impactful stories, joining the team of Daughters of Nowhere was inevitable. Her collaboration with Hollyn Gambill has allowed her to weave together the many impactful stories from Chinese adoptees into a singularly unique narrative. Whatever the project may be, Bella's love for humanistic storytelling shines through.
Hanna Le

Hanna Le is a 4th year cinematography and editing student at the University of North Carolina School of the Arts. As an Asian-American woman, she was especially drawn to this powerful project and Hollyn's mission of bringing awareness, resources, and understanding to the community. She has experience working on numerous documentary films as well as narrative films, but is also drawn to other types of research and projects that grow our knowledge of each other and the world around us. In her free time, she is also a competitive martial artist and YouTube Partner.
Yongjoon Kim
Composer
Yongjoon Kim is a Korean-American film composer with an MFA in Film Music Composition at the UNC School of the Arts. He has composed music for indie video games, creating distinctive map and character themes, as well as composing and arranging music for live dance and theatre performances, including works for a Lincoln Center Fellow. He has also composed original scores for numerous short films and feature-length projects spanning a wide range of genres. Yongjoon is passionate about his craft and values Asian-American visibility in the film industry for nurturing diverse stories and perspectives.
